Nokia N900 Smartphone

The Nokia N900 is a “smart” smartphone – a small, mobile computer with a powerful processor, large internal storage, and easy to use interface. It is not based on a cellphone, but rather an internet tablet. The N900 appeals to multitaskers who wish to have many applications windows open while browsing the internet, just like on their desktop computer.

The N900 runs on a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, offers up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration for higher resolution video. The OS of the N900 is the Linux-based Maemo platform. Navigation is done mostly using the 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen and the slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

There are many applications available for the platform. Some applications are original software written specifically for Maemo, while other applications are straight ports of existing Linux programs. The device easily delivers a PC-like experience on a hand-held sized device
